Lesson3
Dear Jessica,
Thank you for your third message. My comments follow.
Sincerely,
Prof. Sue Garreis
Dear Professor Garreis,
Thank you for your reply and corrections of my English.
There is my homework following:
1.I usually write my messages on Sunday evening in Arnold MD. When I am
finished, it is late Monday morning in Chiba. When do you first check for
my reply to your message? Tell me the day of the week and what time of
day you check.
I usually check for your reply to my message on Tuesday morning
every week.
Thank
you.
2.Visit America's largest telecommunications company, AT&T. Click
here for a recent press release. How many Telepresence Solution rooms
does AT&T plan to have in 2009? (Hint: The answer is in a one
sentence paragraph toward the end of the press release.)
AT&T plans to have 50 Telepresence solution rooms in 2009.
Correct!
3.Visit a large public university on the east coast, the University of
Maryland, and see the Department of Accounting and Information Assurance.
I have seen the Department of Accounting and Information Assurance.
Good.
4.Use any search engine to search the Net for "balance sheet." Please
use quotation marks around the phrase. Tell me how many "hits"
you have, i.e., how many documents have that phrase in it?
Tell me what search engine you used. For example, I used Google to find
"balance sheet." There were about 42,900,000 (forty-two
million nine hundred thousand) hits. Last year there were 20,300,000
(twenty million three hundred thousand) hits.
I used Yahoo to find "accounting balance sheet".
There were about 29,000,000 hits.
Thank
you. And the number increases every year.
5.Finally, visit a very helpful Internet site for accounting information (RAW).
It is maintained by Rutgers University in New Jersey. See the
"Accounting Resources." This site is seen with Netscape
7.1 or higher or with Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher. The Accounting
Resources page takes you to large accounting firms, standard setting
agencies and many other places.
It is a benefit to me to learn about accounting.
This
site has quite a few interesting links. It is a nice gateway for
accounting.
Sincerely, yours
Jessica
