This week the weather turned suddenly cold.
It was several degrees below freezing for two nights in a row.
The low temperatures killed the sensitive plants.
That is always a little bit sad for me.
I miss the lovely flowers in the winter.
But the end of the gardening season makes me a little glad, too.
I can clean up the garden. 
I look forward to the first new growth next spring.
