Lesson4
Dear Professor Garreis,
Thank you for your reply and corrections of
my English.
I will answer your last questions.
Do you know other languages besides English
and Japanese?
>I know a little Chinese. “?好” is “Hello”
>>Do you know another language besides
English?
>No. I must admit I do not. I used to
know some French, but I have forgotten almost all I knew.
>I studied Japanese several years ago,
but I have forgotten it all except for "sumi massen." I use that a
lot!
>I know a word or two of Spanish. Many
signs are in Spanish and English now, so a little bit of Spanish sticks.
My favorite summer foods are ice cream and
watermelon. No cooking necessary!
>Me, too! I like ice cream.
>I bought 20 pieces it last week.
>These are still left over.
>>Awesome! What is your favorite
flavor of ice cream?
What is your favorite summer holiday?
>I go to music festivals.
>A number of artists appear.
>It is fun to share the same music with my
friends.
>>Who is your favorite musician or
group?
>>What is your favorite song that
they perform?
For homework last week
Can you think of any way drones would be
useful in your life?
>For example, I think that drones can be used at construction sites.
>By confirming the progress of the construction, you can see the state
of the work.
>Because my parents are engaged in the construction industry, I think
this is a very useful application.
>>Yes, it is!
>>I found this paragraph:
"Despite the public’s concerns, many
in the construction industry are finding drones and UAVs can play a vital role
in their work. Whether they’re used for surveying, to show clients and
potential clients an aerial overview of completed projects, to monitor jobsites
to ensure safe practices or to inspect bridges and other structures, drones
have the potential to become as important a tool to the industry as any piece
of yellow iron."
>I was surprised at how much drones are already being used. I thought they were mostly just toys.
