Lesson 5

Dear Fatty,

Thank you for your fifth message. My comments and corrections follow.

Sincerely,

Dear Professor Susan Garreis,

Thank  you for your comments and corrections.

Converse, give the kids money because they become elders for kids.

I mean for example, when they become to twenty years old, they are still children for theirs elder(father, mother, uncle, aunt and so on).But they are elder for younger generation(nephew, niece and so on).

>I understand. We do a similar thing in America. When children are too old to believe in Santa Claus (about eight to ten years old), the older children "play Santa" to the younger children. The older children wrap the special presents for the younger children and put them under the tree. The older children can stay up later. The younger children must go to bed early so that Santa will come.

I don't know how to make a quilt.

I have seen my mom knit a sweater, but I think she has never done a quilt.

I think it should be difficult.

>Knitting seems difficult to me! Some quilts are easy to make and some quilts are very difficult. I like to make easy ones.

My favorite food at McDonald’s in China is the taste of grilled chicken burger and spicy grilled chicken burger.I don’t know the translation is correct or not.

>They sound delicious!

  Congratulations on your granddaughter’s graduation.

>Thank you.

Have you ever been to a recital? Either dance or music?

Were you ever the student who gave a recital?

I was never in a recital myself, but I have been to many recitals (mostly music).
