Dear Fatty,
Thank you for your third message. My comments and
corrections follow.
Sincerely,
Dear Professor Susan Garreis,
I got your
e-mail and I opened Word and Excel successfully.
>Good. We will use Word and Excel a lot in
this course.
And I got Louvre, the Musee DfOrsay and Memorial
Dayfs Website.Someone proposed to establish a Memorial Day but up to now China
did not have a Memorial Day.
It is a shameful thing.
My
favorite holiday in Japan is Adult Ceremony.
There are a lot of beautiful girls.Itfs the
reason.
>The presence of beautiful girls is a good
reason to enjoy a holiday.
>Do many young men participate in this
holiday? Or is it mostly a holiday to
celebrate the coming of age of girls? Do the young men dress up in kimonos, too?
My
favorite holiday in China is the Spring Festival.
Many relatives can only be seen in those few
days.
It is the only opportunity to see certain
relatives in those few days.
>What a fortunate opportunity! Family reunions
are great.
Spring Festival
transportation is a serious problems.
Transportation during Spring Festival is a
serious problem.
>I can't even imagine that many people
travelling! The traffic jams must be immense.
>It is also customary to give presents of
money, right?
>Roast turkey is the traditional meat for
Thanksgiving. Most American people eat that on Thanksgiving. But some people
are tired of turkey, so they eat roast beef or ham. Pumpkin pie is the
traditional dessert at Thanksgiving. Here's a picture of a traditional roast
turkey:http://www.foodnetwork.com/topics/thanksgiving/index.html. Here is a traditional pumpkin pie: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipe-collections/pumpkin-pie/index.html.
What is your
favorite holiday in Japan? In China?
On Sunday, my daughter and I will work on a quilt
she started a long time ago.
Do you know what a quilt is?
