Dear Jessica,
Thank you for the seventh message. Do not worry about not sending the homework last week.
Your English is so good. I am sure we will catch up fast.
My comments on this email are below.
Sincerely,
Prof. Sue Garreis
Dear Pro. Garreis,
I am so sorry that I made a mistake and forgot to send the assignments to you.
Do not worry in the least
about that, Jessica. We are fine.
There is my homework following:
1.A.Send me the URL and name of a Japanese firm that is an Internet service
provider, or sells routers, or sells software.
I find the Japanese firm which sells software on http://www.nec.co.jp/
Thank you. This is a very
interesting company, with very focused goals.
1.B.Send me the URL and name of a Japanese CPA firm.
I find the Japanese CPA firm on http://www.shinnihon.or.jp/
Thank you.
2.Name at least two ways that technology will affect your future.
I think the computer is the most important technology which will affect my
future becuase I can konw everything on Internet without going out. On the
other hand, multi-media is widely used in university when the professors give
lectures to students.
3.A podcast is a form of audio broadcasting over the Internet. Music,
lessons, or commentary are sent to a large group of listeners. Have you ever
heard a podcast? If yes, what was it about?Do any of your professors use
podcasts in their courses?
I have not heard a podcast but there are a lot of professors use podcasts in
their courses.
4.What technology would you like to see used in your courses?
I hope the professors would use multi-media in my courses because I think it is so easy to understand what the professors say to their students.
What multi-media would you like the professors to use?
Some examples of multi-media used in the classroom here are Power Point slides (even grade school children use these now); going to live Web pages during the class; web pages that are created by the professor for the course they are teaching; podcasts; blogs by the professor; audio files of classroom lectures that are posted after the class (not a substitute for class; these help students who might be confused by their notes taken during class or for the student who had to miss class for health reasons). The uses of multi-media in the classroom and on the job are limited by our imaginations and our budgets. However, as a professor who used to use a lot of various media for my courses, I must say that the preparation of these materials takes a huge amount of time. It was worth it, though.
We are almost at the end of this course!
Sincerely, yours
Jessica
