Dear Prof. Stiner,
Thank you.
Thank you for your
sixth message.
Thank you for
correcting my English.
My comments follow.

second language?

languages?
Yes, it is.
My second language is
English.
I learned French and
I am learning Chinese in college.
Wow! Is Chinese easy for you? French and Spanish are usually easy for
English-speakers. Those languages are very similar. Japanese, Chinese
and Korean languages
are similar, too. You already know
Japanese.
Therefore, I think
Chinese and Korean are easier for you than English
and French. Am I right?
Third homework:
1. I don't
understand.
However, I think the
U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission requires a
lot more information.
More securities are
listed in the US SEC than in the Japanese SEC. The
US SEC is very
concerned with disclosure of information to individual
investors. There are other differences as
well.
2. I don't
understand.
However, I think
Japan's stock exchange is a few information.
One big difference is
the number of stocks registered on each exchange.
The US exchanges have
very many more stocks registered.
A second big
difference is the
type of investors that buy stock on the exchanges.
The US has very many
individual persons who buy stock through the
exchanges. In Japan relatively few individuals buy
stock through the
exchanges.
3A.I chose Yamaha
Motor Co., Ltd.
3B. Many [YAMAHA
CORP.] goods are made. A mortorcycle,
a boat, and a racing
cart are mentioned also in it.
4A. There is very
little financial information of
McDonald's co, Japan
Ltd.
4B. It has so much
amount of information that the
site in the United
states has an annual report etc,
and can't be compared
with Japan.
5. I consider. an
investor for many information by
the newest.
Investors have the
newest information available to them.
Moreover, the
information could be harnessed effectively.
If the investors are
sophisticated, they can "harness effectively" (use
well) the information
they find. Many investors in the
US markets are
not sophisticated. Many other investors in the US markets
are
sophisticated.
Hiro, these were good
answers to lesson three. Thanks
for sending them.
Sixth homework:
1. Revenue - Cost of
Goods Sold = Gross Margin
and Gross Margin -
Operating Expenses = Net Income (Loss).
correct
2. Value inventory is
$15,000.
The value of the
inventory is $15,000.
This is the correct
value of the cost of goods sold.
But the question
asked for gross
margin. Since revenues are $30,000
and cost of goods
sold is $15,000 ($0 +
$37,000 - 22,000), then gross margin is $15,000.
3. Purchase price is
rising. Because, first price is $100,
seconde price is
$120, third price is $150.
correct
4. It is better to
use LIFO.
correct
Thank you for the
vocabulary words.
5. shinamononohiyou.
sakiiresakidasihou. sourieki.
zaikohin.
atoireatodasihou. jyunsyotoku. kounyuuhin.
syuunyuu. hanbai.
Sincerely,
Hiro
