Thank you for your reply.
Hello, Dr. M. Susan Stiner.
I will tell you about my summer vacation.
I had to stay in my parents' home.
I drove my parents' car, a Toyota Corolla.
Dr.S: Nice! Here's Toyota's URL, in English, of course. Is your parents' car
there?
It's the best-selling car in Japan. It has a manual transmission.
I like a manual transmission. I definitely do not
dislike automatic cars.
Dr.S:I drive an automatic. But I drove a stick shift (manual transmission) when I
was your age. I liked that car. It really was fun to drive! But I am not as
strong now as I used to be. So I am glad I have
an automatic now.
But a stick shift is speedy and it's speed is a pleasure.
Of course, I gave consideration to safe driving.
Dr.S;I hope so! But I know what a temptation it
is on a straight road. And on a curby road!
I didn’t had to catch up with a police officer.
I drove on a national highway. On the way to the port, I stopped at a family
restaurant.a night view is beautiful in the Port.
In the restaurant I ate a hamburger steak dinner with rice, soup, salad.
There was cheese on the hamburger steak and Italian sauce.
The hamburger was spicy, but tasty.
Incidentally, I watched TV, a Hot Dog program.
I thought Americans liked hamburger, but this program said, "Americans like
hot dogs. More than 300,000,000 (three hundred billion) were sold."
And there is Hot Dog City and Hot Dog Street!
Dr.S:We love hamburgers AND hot dogs. We've eaten billions of both. I like them
both. So do my kids and grandkids.
I usually eat onions in sandwiches made of wheat flour.
I haven't had a chance to travel overseas.
If I were in America, I could eat hot dogs and
go to Disney Land.
Sincerely yours,
Aki
Dr.s:I don't know how you can eat a hot dog online, but you can visit Disney World
online. Go here: http://disney.go.com/Disneyland/explore/index.html
Then you'll know what you want to see when you finally do come to America.
Stop in and see me, too! It's not as exciting as Disney here, but I'll give
you plenty of hot dogs and hamburgers.
It sounds as if you had a great vacation, even though you never left the
country. Did you meet anyone who spoke English?
